The Piece I enjoyed! Or the Peace I enjoyed!

About This Poem: This is a narrative poem commenting on human psychology about the thought processes involved when making choices in life. Here, a young boy has to choose among some cookies which he tends to choose according to what tempts him.

 The Piece I enjoyed! Or the Peace I enjoyed!

The Piece I enjoyed

The way I saw it

 

The bigger one I picked

The smaller ones I ditched

 

It might be

The smallest one

Tasted the best

 

or It might be

what I chose from the rest

was only the best of the best?

 

they were all crated up

on the same desk

with the same frills

on the same nest (here, basket)

 

it was me who chose from all

what tempted me was the size

so I picked the biggest one of whole

 

someone might

go for shape

for a colors

or for a drape (here, coating)

 

The piece I picked from whole

The piece I enjoyed the most

Only gave me the peace I knew

Only gave me the peace I want

The Tale Behind This: While picking up a cookie to have it with milk at dusk, from the jar in my kitchen I had to choose one of the jarfull of cookies. This was difficult for me and ate up a lot of my time. However, the one i picked in a way sufficed me. This level of contentedness got me thinking about how even we as humans think when we have to make different choices from moment to moment.
